A feel-good space and sensual design oasis

This model bathroom pampers people with warm coziness – and premium design that encourages people to hang around and enjoy it. Which furnishing tricks did we use to create this effect? 

• Rather than cold tiles, the walls are decorated with coarse, uneven mineral plaster. In a world where we almost always encounter sterile, smooth surfaces such as smartphones or device keyboards, we long for something that looks and feels more natural – something that shows life’s imperfections. The mineral plaster in the shower’s wet area is sealed with a waterproof lacquer. The earthy red color is echoed in the flooring and ceiling for a consistent color scheme. What’s more, mineral plaster is practical because it has no joints, which can be tricky to clean.
• The textile finishes on the furniture and sliding wall give the bathroom a really welcoming vibe. Even the shower hose is made of a delicate braided material for a luxurious effect. The wood panel behind the washplace is made of walnut veneer, while other decorative wood elements – such as the art on the walls – add vibrancy to the room. As does the stool, which can be used as a shelf or a seat, depending on your preferences.
• The top half of the wall behind the washplace has been hand-painted with bold brush strokes. Whether you prefer plaster or wallpaper, add an artistic touch to your bathroom! Your unique masterpiece can be redone or redesigned at any time.  
• A room-in-room concept can help you to divide your bathroom into individual feel-good areas, for example: A washplace with a mirror and source of warm light, a floor-to-ceiling showerplace, and a toilet zone. Many people want extra privacy in these intimate areas, which is where sliding elements come in. The flexible wall – covered in a waterproof material – can separate the areas as needed for more privacy and coziness.    
• The bathroom furniture offers plenty of storage space. All items can be tidied away in the vanity unit, tall cabinet, and recessed shower niches for a beautiful bathroom aesthetic.
• Last but not least: A dark bathroom doesn’t need to feel cold, depressing or uncomfortable. As you can see in this picture, the exact opposite has been achieved in this retreat.
