They work extra shifts in Germany, are over the moon about their 113 new colleagues and share in the Group's success
The marked increase in order receipts, which the Hansgrohe Group recorded during the 2010 financial year, is also reflected in the employee numbers. With 3,220 employees around the world, as at 31 December 2010 there are now 125 more employees than there were the previous year. Most of the new workforce clocked in at German sites. The Hansgrohe Group created a total 113 new jobs here during the period under review. One particularly positive result: the Group succeeded in transferring 70 temporary workers to direct employment.
Hansgrohe creates jobs
At year-end, 2,137 employees were working in Germany – more than ever before since the company was founded in 1901. The proportion of employees in Germany increased to 66 percent of the entire workforce. In accordance with the specifications of §§ 1 and 3 of the Co-determination Act, the number of employees, which totalled 1,970, also exceeded that of the previous year (2009: 1,899). There was a more modest increase in personnel outside Germany. Year-on-year the number of employees in the overseas branches increased by 12 to a total 1,083.
Hansgrohe pays out a profit-sharing bonus of 1.3 million euros
In order to allow the workforce to share in the positive business trend, the company once again shared its success with them in December 2010: with a bonus totalling 1.3 million euros. "Our factories are buzzing with activity", said Hansgrohe's Chairman of the Executive Board Siegfried Gänßlen just before Christmas. "Our production is going on to some extent seven days a week around the clock."
Hansgrohe is renowned as an attractive employer
Hansgrohe AG is not deemed to be an attractive employer just because of its outstanding order books. Hansgrohe AG is also recognised for its cutting-edge solutions and commitment to its workforce, the average age of which is ever increasing. Thus, in 2010 Hansgrohe AG received the AARP International Innovative Employer Award.
Training in 23 professions – with a high rate of 6.6 percent
In the competition for capable, skilled personnel, Hansgrohe AG has for years consistently relied on fostering its own in-house young talent with the company's special training concept. With the 30 young men and women who started in the Black Forest at the beginning of the training year on 1 September 2010, the total number of apprentices is now 130. The 6.6 percent training rate is well above average for the metal-processing industry in Germany.
Moreover, in 2010 targeted promotion was given to talents in all age groups – and all employees at all sites were given the opportunity to systematically further their education.
