No mercy for product pirates!
"Copying is the most sincere form of compliment", according to Far-Eastern lore. Hansgrohe is always happy to receive compliments. But the Black Forest industry pioneer is rigorously clamping down on its competitors' pirate copies: using legal confiscation and destruction. Because product piracy is no trivial offence. Plagiarism is conducted in many sectors, and the economic damage is considerable – and this is also true for brand manufacturer Hansgrohe. The damage amounts to an estimated three percent of the net sales, at the very least. This corresponds to around 100 jobs at the German site.
A policy of zero-tolerance towards counterfeit products means consumer protection
The company invests two to three million euros a year in protecting its own rights, not only due to the lost revenue, but also due to damage to the company image. Cheap copies contain defects in quality, safety and function. Hansgrohe wants to protect consumers from being conned in this way. And of course the bad quality of the counterfeit is also damaging to the original. In other words: Counterfeit products and registered design infringements damage the Hansgrohe reputation and brands. Not to mention the reputation of its partners in the sanitary specialist retail and trade, who work with the Schiltach mixer and shower specialist. Thus Hansgrohe consistently defends its Made in Germany quality guarantee.
