Workforce and Company Donate to Aid Project in Ruanda

Hansgrohe SE and its employees support the initiative “Kinder brauchen Frieden” e.V. (children need peace) / cash and product donations for additional sanitation facilities of the children’s village in Kigali

The policy of supporting aid projects has already had a long tradition at Hansgrohe. Now the employees of the Schiltach-based shower and faucet manufacturer have decided that their cash donations are to be channeled into a humanitarian aid campaign in Ruanda. With 50,000 Euros, Hansgrohe employees are supporting the initiative “Kinder brauchen Frieden” e.V. (children need peace); In addition to cash, Hansgrohe SE will make product donations. The charitable association plans to use the cash donation and faucets for new sanitation facilities for the primary school in the children’s village “Village de la Paix” in Kigali.

“The willingness of the Hansgrohe employees to donate to disaster relief and aid projects in the world’s poorest countries is quite overwhelming!” Together with the faucets, we can do a great deal of good here in a non-bureaucratic manner!” said Stefan Krischak, Chairman of Hansgrohe’s Works Council. He was thrilled with the amounts that have already been contributed by the workforce within the scope of various donation campaigns. Now he and Thomas Egenter, Director of Human Resources at Hansgrohe SE, were able to issue a check for the equivalent of 45 million Rwf (Rwandan francs) payable to the initiative “Kinder brauchen Frieden” e.V. The check was handed over on site in October 2014 by Drikus Willemse, Market Developer Africa for Hansgrohe South Africa.
