Bright sails radiate warm light from the wellness landscape of the Tschuggen Bergoase in Arosa.
The Tschuggen Bergoase in Arosa: a paradise for the senses nestled between heaven and earthSchiltach, June 2008. The sails have been set for a journey to a world of peace and relaxation. Star architect Mario Botta has created a wellness oasis spanning 5,000 square meters which shows its distinctive face in the mountain region of Arosa in the Swiss canton of Graubünden. The roof construction with its opulent yet filigree sails made of glass and steel nestles snugly into the surroundings. During the day, the sails make for rooms flooded with light while exuding a warm hue over the idyllic mountain village of Arosa at night. No wonder the four-storey building – which serves as a spa for the renowned Tschuggen Grand Hotel – was given the name of “Bergoase” (mountain oasis). All of the elements of the mountain region can be found in the expansive sauna and bathing landscapes: air, light, water and rock. The planners found a perfect partner for this ambience in the form of the Hansgrohe wide-pattern overhead showerheads and the Axor Starck line featuring a restrained design. The principle of designer Philippe Starck goes perfectly with the concept of the mountain oasis: a return to the essential, to the original forms of water usage.
